I love celebrating people’s birthdays, mainly because it is a perfect excuse to have prosecco and chocolates for breakfast and eat cake all day, but also because I love picking out presents that I think my friends or family will really love and they are always such happy occasions.
Thankfully the weather was nice enough to have lunch in the garden so we made the most of it. The prosecco continued through from breakfast, there is no such thing as too much on a birthday.
Mum opened her presents and we had some family round.
We went to the George Inn, a pub/restaurant in Meopham, Kent for our celebratory dinner. The front of the restaurant is like a traditional pub but the back opens up into a cosy restaurant and the food is really nice.
I had the duck spring rolls for the starter and fish for my main..
And Anthony had calamari followed by goat’s cheese, spinach and red onion tart for his main.
It was the perfect way to celebrate my lovely mum’s special day.
